Yesterday I met up with a couple of people I did my A levels with. They're back on holiday. It was awkward.
First off, we were never really good friends. And then I never really got on with them. Particularly now, considering how different the paths our lives have taken. They're following the traditional route of studies. They all went off to college, come for visits, intermittently, and then head back. I on the hand, went to college, dropped out, came back, and am now looking for alternative methods of getting a degree, no..and accredited degree.
So no, we didn't have much to say to each other and yeah, they found it weird that I was going to tuition and wouldn't bunk because they happened to be there. But you know what? It took me almost a year to build up a life here again, and I'm not about to bend over backwards for people who rarely, well never, bother to say "hey" when they're in town. Another of our mutual friends at whose house they were meeting up, called me.
So yeah it was awkward. That's life I guess.
And it never fails to baffle people that I choose to study, of my own free will, and quite against most other peoples common sense, Mathematics. The one things that has consistently made sense, and the one things I've done consistently well in since 7th grade.
Perhaps that's the reason, right there. Who knows?
